Journal Entry 25 Don't tell me that people aren't fucked in the head
During my shows I still get people that have a difficult time admitting their acts of debauchery. I know all these people have indulged themselves in extreme acts of perversions at some point or another in their lifetime. I know because they laugh all too hard when I speak of these truths. Now some occasionally dabble, while others walk a very thin line between the chronic user and the unhealthy sub-human miscreant.
The problem with our society is that unlike other cultures that have just given in and accepted that man is imperfect and susceptible to these perverse urges then just give into them in healthy moderations. We here in America have this holier-then-thou attitude that prevents us from feeding that hungry beast. So instead, we keep our dirty little secrets inside us, ashamed of it. Should they ever manifest themselves, as they most certainly will and in fact, do. We still manage to hide it away deep inside our closet where it can grow to be something horrific in our minds and in the minds of those who finally catch us in the act. I'm not one to judge, trust me, I embrace my perversions, but being totally hones here, I'm not really sure what category I fall in. I think I fall into the category of the guy who chronically practices, while staying far away from the line. However, "perversions" is a very broad word. I mean, what is one man's pool is another man's piss-fountain.
